Special Olympics
The Special Olympics touches lives in hundreds of communities across the nation and around the world, and each year hundreds of Alpha Sigma Alpha members make a difference to this important organization. Our sisters love supporting the Special Olympics by paritcipating in The Polar Bear Plunge, as well as voulenteering at events for the upcoming Special Olympics.Special Olympics remains important to our members long after they graduate.
S. June Smith Center
The S. June Smith Center supports children with disabilities in achieving their potential and promotes their full participation within their families, schools and communities in Central Pennsylvania.
Girls On the Run
Girls on the Run is a learning program for girls in third through eighth grade. The program provides training for the 5K run event with self-esteem enhancement and uplifting workouts. The program aims to empower girls to love their bodies and honor their voices and embrace their talents. Girls on the run, focuses on the physical, emotional, mental and social well-being of all the girls.
JDRF
JDRF is the leading diabetes foundation funding T1D research. JDRF’s goal is to progressively remove the impact of T1D from people’s lives until we achieve a world without T1D. Every Fall Semester Alpha Sigma Alpha Pairs with Phi Kappa Psi in hosting our annual Jail and Bail to promot awareness. This year we raised over $500 for the cause.
